On Friday May 15th
on the the Glenn Beck TV show on the Fox News channel, the focus will be on guns, but more specifically on bills pending in several States which reassert State rights in the face of Federal gun laws.

The entire show will be devoted to this critical issue.

This huge challenge to the massive overreaching of the Federal government under the color of the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution could shake the Republic back to its foundations.

Dare I say this could be that monumental?
Absolutely.

And yes, there may be holes in this law in Montana. But if nothing else, it is a damned fine start.

If the worst is true - that we may need a Constitutional amendment to clarify the interstate commerce clause and nullify its violations - then it won't take place before 2011 at the earliest...

So let's get ready to throw the rascals bastards out in 2010.

But, in the thirty-plus years I've been interested and involved in political issues, this development gives me the most hope ever that we may possibly return to Constitutionality.

I get a cold chill as I watch these videos, and my heart dares to fill with hope that the words of Benjamin Franklin can again ring true.

When asked at the close of the 1787 Constitutional Convention what form of government had been bestowed on America, Franklin replied, "
A republic if you can keep it".

Indeed.

It's 8:60 somewhere...

Chapter 8 verse 60 of the Qu'ran tells believers to, "strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies".

Drilling in ANWR: How wide an impact? The truth is right here...

As oil prices begin to creep back up, here's an issue worth revisiting.

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) consists of about 20 million acres.

The area in which advocates want to drill for oil is about 2,000 acres.

The drawing below shows the relative proportion of these numbers.

For you shooters, that would be like a 7.62mm / .30-caliber hole in a 30" round shotgun patterning target.

I say, "Drill here. Drill now!"
