Ball, Louisiana cop detains man over 'extremist' bumper sticker

The headline seems almost too crazy to believe:
Suspect detained over 'extremist' bumper sticker
'Don't Tread on Me' puts driver in 'watch' category in DHS report
Methinks these coppers need a little education...

The photo and caption below are from this official US Navy news story:
"Aboard the USS Salt Lake City (SSN 716) Sep. 11, 2002 -- A Sailor hoists the "Navy Jack" aboard the Salt Lake City in memory of the September 11 attacks on America. Under direction of the Secretary of the Navy, Gordon R. England, all U.S. Navy ships will fly the “Navy Jack” in place of the “Union Jack” for the duration of the war on terrorism. The “Navy Jack” is a flag consisting of a rattlesnake superimposed across thirteen horizontal alternating red and white stripes, with the motto, “Don’t Tread on Me.” U.S. Navy photo. (RELEASED)" (- emphasis mine)

I think we should print out the Navy Web page that features this photo & caption in high quality mode (with the page URL set in the top margin) and send it to Ball, Louisiana Police Department:
Ball Town Police Department
100 Municipal Dr
Ball, LA 71405
phone (318) 640-4673
Perhaps someone should warn the department not to attempt to stop any Navy vessels that may happen to wander by on some tributary of the nearby Red River or the port of Alexandria!
