I mainly posted this so that the phrase "toiling in the communist vinyards" would show up in Google searches.

*chuckle*

It's a phrase that the late Dr. William Steuart McBirnie (info here, here, and here) of The Voice of Americanism used in one of his books to describe the late Sen. Howard Metzenbaum.

I thought that phrase really hit the nail on the head, and it really struck a chord with me.

Reminds me of Maxine Waters and John Conyers,just to name two...

Perry-Palin 2012, then Palin-Bachmann 2020?

Until recently I was not very excited about who we had on deck for the GOP nomination.

Hell, I would have been delighted with a President Dick Cheney. :)

But now I'm starting to feel a little stirring in my soul, thinking about Perry/Palin 2012.

Perry has been accused of being a RINO, but he's solid on free enterprise, gun rights, pro-life, and the appointing of strict constructionist judges.

Very important points, despite some concern about immigration, etc.

How about this Cabinet lineup:

John Bolton as Secretary of State
Allen West as Secretary of Defense
Marco Rubio as UN Ambassador
Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich at Commerce and Treasury (not sure who goes where)
Ron Paul or Alan Keyes at Justice

Then it's on to Palin/Bachmann 2020...

Help Libya: Send in the drones

First, we should recognize the provisional government of Libya known as the Libyan National Council.

Then let's have the CIA outfit a handful of unarmed Predator and/or Reaper drones with leaflets and drop them over government-controlled areas like Sirte and Tripoli to encourage the anti-Gaddafi populace to demonstrate, revolt, and to commit sabotage against the colonel's forces.

Then let's outfit the new government with Stinger missiles, Humvees, M-16s and ammunition.

If that doesn't work in a couple of weeks, let's fast-track a mutual defense treaty and then send a few Hellfire missiles into Muammar's palaces.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, so when Richard Dreyfuss appeared on Fox and Friends recently, he hit the nail on the head here.

The volume is low on this upload, but it is worth listening to, especially from 01:00 - 01:57, for his synopsis on how TV helped mess up our culture, hampered Americanism, and bred cynicism.
